Unfortunately I did not make it to the Barn Hop on time this week it has just been too crazy. I wanted to let everyone know a little about what we have done so here is a summary....
I added some recipe's to the cookbook:
Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal Pancakes
Creamy Potato Leek Soup
Ham Bean Soup
(the beans looked so pretty before I cooked them)
and as promised...I also taught myself to crochet...This was my first attempt what do you think? I missed a few and lost my count but I think it turned out really nice for a first shot at it.
Not sure if I will be able to blog next week. Our 11yr old son Sage is having surgery on his arm on Friday, so keep him in your prayers if you will. They will be putting in screws to help lengthen his Ulna which stopped growing in the past few years as a result of his growth plate being damaged from the Meningitis he had when he was 4. I will have to do a blog just about him one of these days...here is a picture of him...
We also put in our order for turkeys and chickens...we will be getting Bourbon Red and Royal Palm turkeys, and we ordered some Silver Laced Wyandottes as an all purpose chicken and some Golden Polish Crested just for fun...To me they look like Vegas show girls I can't wait!

I hope everyone has a great week!
LOL! Got a laugh out of the feathered showgirl comment :-)
ReplyDeleteI have added Sage to my Prayer list. He is a handsome child too.
You bell looks fine - it is a bell, isn't it? If not ... my face will be flaming; at any rate, I think you dId very well for teaching yourself :-)
And your food pics are pushing me towards the kitchen! TTYL ...
Thank you! Extra prayers are always appreciated! Well it is supposed to be a baby hat...with a ruffle...LOL I still have yet to steal a baby to try it on but I am pretty sure it should fit a newborn. (seems that no one thinks I will give it back :) I did not have a pattern and can not read the ones that I have anyway so until I learn what all the stitches are called I winged it...I love being in my kitchen, I wish I got to spend more time it there too...
ReplyDeleteWell ... my face is beet red! Sorry about that :-(
ReplyDeleteBut I know what you mean about newborns :-) I'm the official baby-wearer when family gatherings kick in and babies are present. LOL
Let me see what I can do from this end to help you figure the patterns out. Once you get the lingo down it's so simple and you'll be whipping so many things out you'll have to store it in the spare room!
Looks like you're eating well at your house! Yum!! Hope the surgery goes well! Praise the Lord he's still here to have the surgery!
ReplyDeleteYou food looks great. I will be coming back for recipes. Will keep your son in my prayers as well.
ReplyDeleteOh My Gosh! You weren't a'kidding they look like Vegas Show Girls! What a hoot!
ReplyDeleteI will keep your son in my prayers and look forward to hearing his story and his recovery as well!
Oh my. You've got it going on around here girl! The food! The critters! learning to crochet! You make me proud. Prayers for your son. Have a beautiful week.
